One-Year Pictures and WALKING!

Here are AJ's one-year pictures. This first one was a total fluke, but ended up being our favorite! We put AJ in the tub so that he would stay in range of the camera, threw on the cowboy hat and got the picture before he threw it off!
HAPPY FIRST BIRTHDAY!
I wanted a nice close-up since it might be awhile before we do pictures again! We got a large wall-portrait of this one in Sepia - priceless!
AJ's been taking some steps here and there for the past few weeks, but now he is really beginning to get the hang of it, and can walk across entire rooms when he wants to. He's even started to let go of things himself and walk without anyone prompting him!

1 Year Check-Up/Visit to the Park

AJ had his 1 year check-up this past Tuesday, and the Doc said everything looks GREAT! AJ now weighs 23 lbs. 12 oz. (61 percentile) and is 32 inches tall (91 percentile). The Doc made the comment that his height might not be quite right since kids can get wiggly during the measurement, but AJ actually laid very still for the nurse as he pondered what she was doing. We think he's going to be taller than his daddy someday! I thought taking him off the bottle would be a challenge, but after weening him for two weeks we are bottle free! He's getting to be such a BIG boy! He also has FINALLY started to say Ma-Ma. I heard it for the first time clearly just this past Wed. and he's said it everyday since. YEAH! He's only been saying Da-Da for the past six months, and has mastered several other consonant sounds in the time being. He also imitates the quack-quack sound when he's in the bathtub with his rubber ducky. SO CUTE!

Brian and I took AJ to the park yesterday to enjoy the nice Spring weather. Here he is enjoying the swings which he has always LOVED. It was so fun to hear him squeal with delight as we would release his swing from up high.
AJ also received his first golf lesson from Daddy, and enjoyed practicing how to get the balls in the holes. He's a pro!
